How to Find Us

Location Irish Cottages Donegal are located on the upper Lough Salt Road at Glen, near Carrigart. It is within easy driving distance of the following: 17km north west of Letterkenny Town, 55km west of Derry City Airport, 155km west of Belfast International Airport, 55km north east of Donegal Airport (Dungloe). Car hire facilities are available at all airports, major towns and cities. Highlighted area of the map shown below

Directions to the Cottages

On arrival in Letterkenny, proceed towards the General Hospital located on the N56 Road to Dunfanaghey. Driving past the hospital and remaining on the N56, follow the signs for Kilmacrennan (9km). Going through Kilmacrennan, follow the signs for Termon (3km). 6km past Termon turn off to the right at the sign for Lough Salt Road (just past the old ruined railway bridge). Remain on this road until you come to the village of Glen (6km).

Just before you come to the sign for the village (which is on the left hand side of the road and just a couple of yards before the village speed limits) there is an old National School, now a private residence (also on the left hand side).

Directly opposite this house and specifically at that point, there is an upward climbing road to the right hand side of the road you are on, known as the Upper Lough Salt Road.

At this junction, turn sharply to the right on to this road. Proceed along this road for 2km. A small road turns off to the left, the entrance to which is marked by two large stone boulders.

Carry on along this road for ½km until you come to a fork in the road. Take the right hand lane and proceed a further ½km. Harry's House is off to the left and is clearly visible from the lane. Proceed a further ½km along the lane until you come to Peter's House.
